Sleight of Magic was established in 2009 with the main office being in Ottawa, Ontario with the objective to provide quality entertainment to all of our client's. We strive to provide the best experience possible to all of our client's and their guests. Sleight of Magic can provide many different shows of magical entertainment to a host of venues. We have many packages that may suit many types of events. If a package does not suit your particular event we can tailor a package or show to suit your event.

Sleight of Magic is owned and operated by David Dickens. David has been interested in performing magic since he was 9 years old. He began teaching himself from books that he borrowed from the library and he also received many books from various family members. David spent countless hours practicing and honing his craft and began performing to his family, friends and class mates and received a very good reaction. Over the next 10 years David practiced and performed magic as a hobby.

The first paying event David performed was for a neighbor of his parents, she held a birthday party for her daughter. This party was actually a Halloween party where all the kids were dressed up. As David was performing magic at this birthday party, there was one kid who began heckling him and the Ironic thing about the kid heckler was that he was dressed up for Halloween as a Magician.

David continued to study and his interest in magic grew and at the age of 20 David became a Close up Magician and began performing at restaurants such as Emma's Back Porch and East Side Mario's. David had performed at these venues off and on. David also began performing at private functions such as birthday parties and dinners. Someone had suggested to David the possibility of performing at a hotel.  David began preparing a video with some Sleight of hand Close-up magic he performed and sent it in to the Marriott Fallsview hotel. David was hired as a Close-up Magician in the Terrapin Grille Restaurant located in the Hotel and he worked there until the fall of 2006.

David has also performed his special brand of close up magic at many corporate functions and top venues in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Venues which include Marriott Family of Hotels, Oakes Hotel overlooking the falls, Great Wolf Lodge. David continues his love and passion for magic to this day and he anxiously looks forward to the future.
